Spring Cleaning? Why Not Recycle?

Spring is here!  Time to “Spring Clean!”  Once Mother Nature is done having her fun, and dumping snow and chilly temps on us, spring will be in full fource leading to warmer temps and sunny days!

If you plan on doing some spring cleaning, why not do something to help Mother Earth at the same time?  Here are some fabulous ideas for recycling those unwanted items without filling up the landfills!

Green Guru GearGreen Guru Gear takes in recycled bike tubes, climbing ropes, banners, wetsuits and PETE recycled plastic bottles and turns them into great everyday products such as backpacks, wallets and waterproof laptop sleeves!

Reclaimed StyleThe 10 different local artists that make up “Reclaimed Style” take used furniture pieces found in dumpsters, roadside, and via donations, and create imaginative new furnishings with an artistic flare!  Their pieces range in price so there is something for everyone (and every budget)!  They also do custom pieces upon request.

Eco-CycleEco-Cycle takes hard-to-recycle materials, such as plastic bags and electronics, along with a long list of other odd items, from both residents and businesses, and finds way to recycle them within Boulder County.

Waste Knot WoodworksWaste Know Woodworks uses salvaged and reclaimed wood to create new and imaginative items for your home.  They are all about giving their customers exactly what they want, and can take custom orders.

A portion of Waste Knot Woodworks proceeds are donated to the Boulder Humane Society to help homeless pets.

My New IT GuysReady to throw your computer out the window?  (I know I was a couple of weeks ago!) Why not upgrade and donate your old computer to My New IT Guys?  They take in old computers and give them new life by refurbishing them.

RecycOilRecycoil takes old cooking oil and turns it into domestically-produced biodiesel!  The cooking oil is filtered and de-watered and then sold to commercial biodiesel manufacturers.  The separated water and food waste is composted at commercial compost facilities.
