It’s that time of year again….Property Tax time! Many of you have probably received your property tax assessment in the mail by now. Maybe you tossed it aside, or didn’t even open it. You need to OPEN YOUR PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENT and read it!
More importantly, look at how much your home was assessed for as this will determine the amount of property taxes you will pay. If your home value went down or stayed the same, then it is probably a good idea to just stand still (this is not meant to replace the advice of your tax professional.) However, if your value went up – especially if it went up more than you expected or feel your home is actually worth – you have the option to appeal the assessment and possibly lower your property taxes.
If you find yourself in this situation I may be able to assist you. I will be happy to provide current comps in your area that you can use to support your appeal. This is a complimentary service with no obligation.
Please let me know if you would like for me to provide you with information on other sold and currently listed properties in your neighborhood so that you can provide this information along with your property tax appeal, and present a stronger case. There is no guarantee that this will lower your property taxes however, why pay more than you need to if you feel that your property may have been assessed incorrectly.

IMPORTANT: You only have until June 1, 2011 to appeal your
Property Tax Assessment
Please note: I can only pull comps for properties located along the Front Range, Mountain, and Denver Metro areas.
