My husband and I have been looking at homes close to downtown (Boulder), with great walking scores. Like so many 40-something / 50-somthing couples, we are starting to look ahead to a time when we are “empty nesters” and can downsize. You know, less maintenance, lower costs, etc. etc.
During our search we are discovering that there are deals to be had out there – if you are patient, you know what you want, and are willing to keep an open mind (i.e. trade the perfect location for one slightly less perfect on a house that need very little work. Or the perfect location with a house that needs some TLC and elbow work.)
This has also opened our eyes to the many investment opportunities that are available! Have you been thinking about jumping into the investor pool? Now is as good a time as any! When we find the home of our retirement dreams, we will not be moving into it right away. Instead we will be renting it out until our last child graduates high school and we are ready to make the move and downsize. Along this journey, we are discovering that the investor market in Boulder is alive and well!
